The minutes of the March 5 meeting were approved as posted to the web site. | |||

a. | Nominating | ||
Middlemiss reported that nominations are now up to date, but noted a continuing need to recruit new members to the Board. | |||
b. | Operations | ||
Wetzel reported that KCNV was put on the air as a classical-music replacement
for KMZT at 107.1-MHz.
After about a week, the broadcaster stopped the HD signal to arrange a
satellite studio-to-transmitter link.
KCNV is expected to resume HD broadcasting a couple of weeks after the NAB
Convention (April 19th).
President Cole reported that he authorized Wetzel to purchase three USDTV set-top boxes from eBay, not to exceed $300, to replace the two that quit working and to have an extra around for a spare. |

1. | Middlemiss reported that $239 was donated during the course of the Home Show, and some new names were added to the mailing list. The supplies of Newsletter copies and update sheets were exhausted. | ||
2. | Middlemiss reported that the cost for participating in the Spring Craft Festival had gone up and that it would be in our financial best interest to pass on the event. | ||
D. | New business | ||
1. | Middlemiss moved that up to $3,000.00 be authorized for the purchase of four Scala broadband UHF transmit panels for the digital companion channels. (Manos 2nd, 6-0-0 voice, Passed). | ||
E. | Discussion items | ||
1. | Other HD-Radio stations | ||
There was a short discussion about contacting KUOR to see what plans they had for upgrading their transmitter add HD-Radio. Alternately, KKJZ itself should be tested by turning off our 88.1-MHz translator to see what signals can be received directly. | |||
2. | DTV Transition, Part II | ||
There was a short discussion on the possibility of using the low power Acrian amplifiers to broadcast KTTV-DT and KCOP-DT on digital companion channels 27 and 29. This would enable us to add a couple more receivable digital multi-program channels like KLCS-DT and KDOC-DT until donations permit us to purchase additional full-power digital translators. | |||
