|
Both of the first US Digitial HDTV receivers we purchased were swapped out for
newer units with updated firmware.
The swap seems to have resolved the audio dropout problems on channels 45 and
47.
KTWV was put on the air on 96.7 MHz. All RG-59 cable segments in the FM translator transmitting antennas were replaced with new RG-6 segments. Water corrosion was reported in many of the segments. All FM translators are transmitting at their licensed power now. To date, we've received no response from KPFK acknowledging our requests for rebroadcast permission. |
|||
| C. | Old business | ||
| 1. | The experimental license request appears to be held up by a single FCC contractor developing the software needed to process the request. | ||
| 2. | The FCC is still waiting for the OMB to complete the forms and cost analysis for digital flash cut applications. Once completed, the FCC will give 30 days notice. So, the soonest the FCC could begin accepting applications is the end of October or the first part of November. | ||
| D. | New business | ||
| 1. | Motion to build eight directional input signal taps for the FM translators, costs authorized not to exceed $150 by Vice President Middlemiss. Seconded by member Manos. Motion carried: 5 ayes, 4 absent. | ||
| 2. | Motion to authorize three attendees for CBA convention (convention fees only, not to cover lodging or meals), not to exceed $1350 by President Cole. Seconded by Vice President Middlemiss. Motion carried: 5 ayes, 4 absent. | ||
| 3. | The next meeting will be held on the first Monday in October, since the second Monday is a holiday (Columbus Day), and the third Monday would happen after Maturango Junction. | ||
| E. | Discussion items | ||
| 1. | There was a short discussion about modifying some of the FM translators to widen their IF section to pass the IBOC carrier of those stations transmitting HD Radio. KCRY will be the first translator attempted. | ||
| 2. | There was a quick discussion regarding whether we should prepare the booth to show off HDTV if the FCC grants our experimental license before Maturango Junction. | ||
| 3. | There was an even quicker discussion after the meeting regarding changing the meeting date back to first Mondays permanently. | ||
| F. | Closure | ||
| 1. | Next meeting: 5:00 PM, October 3, 2005, Kern County Library, Ridgecrest | ||
| 2. | Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at 5:56 PM. |
