Security Engineering still has yet to schedule a trip to Laurel Mountain
to complete their work on the alarms.
A work trip was made to Laurel Mountain February 6. The supposed failed antenna filter was found to be an amplifier with a blown fuse per someone's suggestion. The fuse was replaced and the Victorville station is now being received quite nicely. At the same time, the power amplifier cooling blower was replaced and the translator (channel 49) restored to service. It was noted that there is an apparent loose connection problem with the translator which causes it to sometimes work and sometimes not. A fuse was found to be blown in the KMZT antenna amplifier and a replacement could not be found at the site, so the translator (96.7 MHz) is out of service until further notice (OTS UFN). An email message was received from KKJZ (the operators of KUOR) stating that there have been power outages at the KUOR transmitter site which would be causing TVB to have no signal to translate. Member Cole reported having been to Laurel Mountain February 29 to shut off the channel 63 translator for the last time. | |||
| d. | Telephone messages | ||
| Several calls were received regarding a failure of channel 63. The recorder message has been revised to note the permanent removal of channel 63 and its transfer to channel 41. | |||

| 2. | Member Cole reported having completed the channel 41 construction permit paperwork for the FCC. The operating license has been received so he done good. | ||
| 3. | Secretary Greene reported having contacted KKJZ about the KUOR translation permission. The letter has been received and will be filed with the others on Laurel Mountain. | ||
| 4. | Treasurer Blazek's action item to transfer surplus funds from a non-interest-bearing account to an interest-bearing account did not get accomplished nor did adding member Cole as a signatory to the TVB bank accounts. | ||
| 5. | Absent evidence to the contrary and having received no complaints, it is believed that member Ash checked the B Mountain signal reception and reported his findings to Mr. Castro. | ||
| 6. | Secretary Greene reported having sent a letter to the commanding officer of China Lake seeking access to the B Mountain site for all TVB members. The status of this as of the day of the board meeting is that the commanding officer and the executive officer did not reject the request out of hand and the request has been forwarded to the cognizant person for action. | ||
| D. | New business | ||
| 1. | NTA convention | ||
| It was moved by Blazek and seconded by Manos that TVB would pay up to $325 for the conference fee of a TVB board member to attend the National Translator Association convention, May 14-16, in Salt Lake City. All other expenses are to be paid by the member. This was approved unananimously by voice vote. | |||
